Graduate Study in Motor Development

¡¡

The Department of Health and Kinesiology at Texas A&M University offers M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees in Motor Behavior with specialization in Motor Development. The program is research oriented and designed to provide the student with a thorough foundation in the theoretical characteristics associated with physical growth, development, and motor behavior from a lifespan perspective. In addition to interaction with the motor behavior faculty (includes motor development, control/ learning, biomechanics), supplemental experiences are available in psychology, developmental medicine, and human factors engineering.

For those desiring more of an applied perspective to motor development as it relates to educational programming for children, the Ed.D. is also available. Experiences include experimental lab school activities, research, and supplemental course work in educational psychology, developmental psychology, and curriculum/instruction. Attractive teaching and research lab assistantships and competitive fellowships are available.

For more information, contact with Dr.Carl Gabbard or Mrs. Mary Beth Isenhart (Senior Academic Advisor for Graduate Programs).
